Volunteer Supervisor (Part Time) - Wellington, Porirua and Hutt Valley

Refugee Services operates a nationwide network of trained Volunteer Support Workers (VSWs) to help welcome and provide practical support, friendship and advocacy for refugee clients during their initial months of resettlement in New Zealand. Our volunteer supervisors:

Work in a team with social workers and cross cultural workers to plan for best client support
Recruit new volunteers to assist with refugee clients
Supervise teams of volunteers, providing support and guidance

Refugee Services is looking for three Volunteer Supervisors for the Greater Wellington area, to be based in Wellington City, Porirua and Lower Hutt respectively, but flexible to support regionally. It is preferred that the candidate has lived in New Zealand for two years or more.

The position is part-time, for 22.5 hours per week, days to be negotiated. The ideal candidate would be available to work part-time over 4-5 days per week, and must have flexibility to work some evenings and weekends. Experience in volunteering or work in the voluntary or social services sector preferred. The position is permanent.
