Charter Consultation

Refugee Resettlement is presently preparing its Charter which is intended to provide a governance document that defines the agency's mission, strategies and role in the tertiary education sector.

As part of this process, we are required to consult with our stakeholders and provide an opportunity for them to give feedback on the draft Charter (.pdf, 130KB), prior to adoption of the final document.

We have identified the following categories of stakeholders:
  • former and present Refugee Resettlement clients
  • Refugee Resettlement staff and Refugee Resettlement Board members
  • Refugee Resettlement volunteers
  • Maori, including local iwi
  • government and non-government funders
  • other agencies providing services to refugees
  • government departments and NGOs involved in the settlement of refugees

Significant consultation has already taken place with a number of key stakeholders.

At the Refugee Resettlement AGM, held on 12 December 2005, the Refugee Resettlement Board endorsed the changes and improvements made as a result of recent consultations and decided to extend the time for possible further revision until March 2006.
