Greater Wellington Intake Coordinator - Full time, permanent
Refugee Services is looking for an Intake Coordinator for the Greater Wellington area, based in Wellington but flexible to support regionally. The Intake Coordinator provides a smooth resettlement process for refugee clients to Greater Wellington through provision of basic resettlement needs, and to manage information flows to staff and key agencies.

Volunteer Supervisor - Part time, permanent
Refugee Services is looking for a Volunteer Supervisor, to be based in Lower Hutt, but flexible to support regionally. The ideal candidate would be available to work part-time over 4-5 days per week, and must have flexibility to work some evenings and weekends. The work includes recruiting new volunteers to assist with refugee clients; supervising teams of volunteers, providing support and guidance; and working with a team of social workers, cross cultural workers and case workers to plan for best client support.

Burmese Speaking Cross Cultural Worker - Permanent, flexible hours
Refugee Services is looking for a fluent Burmese Speaker to work with newly arrived families in the Wellington area as a Cross Cultural Worker. It is preferred that the candidate has lived in New Zealand for two years or more. The work includes helping clients from Myanmar/Burma resettle in New Zealand. We are looking for someone who is able to relate to and support people from different cultural and religious backgrounds, and who can work both independently and as part of a team. Refugee background or membership of the Myanmar/Burmese community would be strongly preferred.

Trained community volunteers are key participants in the successful resettlement of refugees. In liasion with the professional staff of Refugee Services, they help provide practical support and establish community linkages during the initial months of resettlement. It's challenging work, involving commitment and responsibility...but it can also bring great rewards.
